Welcome

Our goal is to provide a relaxed, comfortable
atmosphere where you may receive soothing,
healing and recuperative benefits from massage.
At Bond Therapeutic Massage you and your
family will find relief from life’s muscle aches,
pains, ailments, stresses, and injuries.

Our therapists utilize a variety of massage techniques.
Our services  include: relaxation massage, therapeutic
massage, neuromuscular therapies* (myofascial release,
muscle energy techniques, trigger  point therapy).
Massage does not replace the need for medical
attention. Therapists do not diagnose medical
problems or  manipulate bones. Always tell your
therapist if you have a medical  problem, even a
minor one. There are certain situations in which
caution should be taken when receiving massage
and bodywork.

Massage or bodywork can help reduce chronic
pain; reduce swelling; improve posture; loosen
tight muscles; improve muscle and skin tone;
speed recovery from injuries and illness; increase
joint flexibility and range of motion; strengthen
the immune system; increase blood  and lymph circulation; lower blood pressure; reduce stress;
promote better sleep; and provide a feeling of
well-being.

About You

It is important to feel comfortable with your massage
therapist. Ask questions or share concerns whenever
they come up, such as the massage techniques used,
personal philosophy of healing, or experience and
training. You are the expert on your healing. Your
massage therapist can suggest approaches, but you
control the direction and pace of each massage,
which may change from one time to the next. If
there are any areas you would prefer not to include
in your session, be sure to let your therapist know
prior to the
start of your session. If while during
our session you experience pleasure or discomfort,
tell your therapist to either continue or stop.

Massage therapy is a healing and therapeutic art. Any illicit or sexually suggestive remarks
or advances will result in the immediate termination of your session.

Your Program
On your first visit you will be asked to provide information about your past and current health
health, including any medications you are taking.
This information will be used by the therapist to
develop a program, which will focus on your problem area, along with other areas that
may be
related. This may include, but not limited to, specific
forms of stretching and strengthening of muscles,
some forms of hydrotherapy, and if necessary, a        recommendation to a chiropractor for manipulation
and/or nutritional care. Together we will establish
a  program to provide immediate as well as lasting benefits  to your health.

Terminology

-NeuroMuscular Therapies
is all therapies whose focus is the reduction or elimination of
pain syndromes which originate in the soft tissue due to trauma, lack of use, overuse, poor
postural habits, inflammatory processes, disease, or nutritional deficiencies.
- Myofascial Release is the gentle stretching of the body’s soft connective tissue that has
become restricted.
- Muscle Energy Techniques is the stretching of musculofascial tissues that have shortened.

- Trigger Point Therapy is the use of static pressure to eliminate or reduce the chemical
buildup in the soft tissue that is responsible for the hyperirritability and subsequent referred pain.

Rates and Pre-Pay Plans

Our rates for office visits are:

30-Minute Massage ...... $30

60-Minute Massage ...... $60

90-Minute Massage ...... $90

If you are interested in house visit rates, please ask your therapist.

Our primary goal is that you get well and stay well. I have found through
years of experience that there are two factors that get in the way in getting
healthcare: time and money. I have piloted different pre-pay plans for
over ten years. I have found that when a client pays for his or her care
in advance it handles the time and the money. I would like every
client to do one of the pre-pay plans. There are four different plans
available, one is sure to suit your needs. Simply ask your therapist
about our Pre-Pay Plans.

Success Stories

"I’ve just loved this series of massages from Gail Bond. The first few were very nice
and I felt noticeably relaxed for the rest of the day. After about 4 or 5, I began sleeping
much better. I would wake in the morning feeling a lot like I did as a kid waking on a
rainy day and not having to go to school, if you get the picture. Gail’s understanding
of the muscles and the bones and how they all go together is the best. I’d recommend
her to anyone, and have."

- Richard Weigand -

"Fifteen years ago ... I started having knee problems. When I finally went to the doctor
after falling out of bed (because I couldn’t stand) I was told I didn’t have enough tissue
between my leg bones and my knee cap and that this was due to my still growing and
that it would go away in a year....Well, for fifteen years I have lived with a constant
pain in my knee.... The day I told Gail about it she said "Let’s take a look...", and at
that point she stretched out my leg and fixed it! To have that pain fixed in one hour
was the most wonderful thing in the World to Me! Thanks Gail!

What To Expect
How will I feel after the massage or bodywork session?
Most people feel very relaxed. Some experience freedom from long-term aches
and pains developed  from tension or repetitive activity. After an initial period of
feeling slowed down, people often experience increased energy, heightened awareness,
and greater productivity which can last for days.
What are the benefits of massage and bodywork?
Massage or bodywork can help reduce chronic pain; reduce swelling; improve posture;
loosen tight muscles; improve muscle and skin tone; speed recovery from injuries and
illness; increase joint flexibility and range of motion; strengthen the immune system;
increase blood and lymph circulation; lower blood pressure; reduce stress; promote
better sleep; and provide a feeling of well-being.
Are there any restrictions to receiving a massage or bodywork?
Before you begin your session, the therapist will ask some general health
questions. It is very important that you inform the therapist of any health
problems or medications you are taking. If you are under a doctor’s care
for any medical condition, consult with him or her for any restrictions
to receiving massage.
   Who will perform the massage?
Your session will be conducted by a trained professional who has received formal
training in massage therapy. Our therapists are licensed by the State of Florida.
   Must I be completely undressed?
Most massage and bodywork techniques are traditionally performed with the
client unclothed; however, you may decide what amount of clothing you prefer
to wear for your own comfort.
Will the therapist be present when I disrobe?
The therapist will leave the room while you undress, relax onto the table,
and cover yourself with a clean towel.
Will I be covered during the session?
You will be properly draped at all times to keep you warm and comfortable.
Only the area being worked on will be exposed.
What parts of my body will be massaged?
You and your therapist will discuss the desired outcome of your session.
This will determine which parts of your body require massage or bodywork.
A typical full body session will include work on your back, arms, legs, feet,
hands, head, neck and shoulders. You will not be touched on or near your
genitals
(male or female) or breasts (female). (Recent studies have indicated the
importance of breast massage, please speak to your therapist regarding
this technique.)
   Will lubricant be used?
A light oil or lotion will be used to permit your muscles to be worked on
without causing excessive friction to the skin. The lubricants used should
hydrate the skin and be readily absorbed.

What will the massage or bodywork feel like?
It depends on the techniques used. In a general Swedish massage, your session
may start with broad, flowing strokes which will help to calm your nervous system
and relax exterior muscle tension. As your body becomes relaxed, pressure will
gradually be increased to relax specific areas and relieve areas of muscular tension.
you should communicate immediately if you feel any discomfort so that another
approach may be taken. Massage is most effective when your body is not resisting.
Are there different kinds of massage?
There are numerous types of massage and bodywork; various techniques
utilize different strokes, including basic rubbing strokes, rocking movement,
posture and movement re-education, application of pressure to specific points, etc.
Ask the therapist about methods he or she uses.
How long will the session last?
The average full-body massage or bodywork session lasts approximately one hour.
A half-hour appointment only allows time for a partial massage session, such as
neck and shoulders, or legs and feet. Many people prefer one- to two-hour session
for optimal relaxation. Always allow relaxation time prior to and after the session.
What should I do during the massage?
Make yourself comfortable. The therapist will either gently move you or tell you
what is needed throughout the session (such as lifting your arm). Many people
just close their eyes and completely relax. Others like to talk during their massage.
Feel free to ask the therapist questions about massage in general or about the
particular technique you are receiving.
Where will my massage or bodywork session take place?
Your massage or bodywork session will take place in a warm, comfortable, quiet room.
Soft music may be played to help you relax. You will lie on a table especially designed
for your comfort.
